The pampered little Singaporean boy has been without a computer for nearly a week. He had his meals without watching TV and even learned how to use chopsticks. The details will be posted in a moment. Meanwhile, enjoy some videos we took in Kunming and Dali. He actually liked the feel of the youth hostel at Dali.

Lunch at Jinsuo Island, Erhai.
I’ve eaten here way back in 1995 when I first visited Dali. Prices were reasonable, but not anymore. The restaurants along the wharf at Jinsuo Island are all operated by “crooks” these days. They charge much more than the restaurants at Dali but their cost of acquiring anything from Erhai is obviously much lower.
I had to have lunch here because I was with my son. If you can hold on until about 2.30pm, the lunch back at the ancient city is much more reasonably priced.
The Heavenly Mirror Pagoda 天镜阁 is situated on a hill 东玉案山 on the shore of Erhai. Not an island, it’s actually accessible by road or by boat. It’s a steep climb to the top with souvenir shops at every turn.
