Award-wining American journalist Peter Zuckerman and Amanda Padoan are bringing out a book ‘Buried in the Sky’, a true adventure story of two Nepali mountaineers who were involved in a rescue task during a mountaineering disaster on Mount K2 in Pakistan.
“I wanted to bring my book to Nepal before it comes out anywhere else because the story is about the famous mountaineers who live here,” Zuckerman told RSS. The book will be released by the publishers W.W. Norton in North America on June 11.
Nepali mountaineers Chhiring Dorje Sherpa and Pasang Lama are the two main characters of the book. It is said that the two characters of the book would answer questions and talk about how they pulled off some of the most difficult rescues in mountaineering history.
Or should I say courting death. K2 is one of the deadliest mountains on earth. I vaguely remember that some Singaporeans were on K2 that season too. Fortunately, I don’t think any of them got into trouble.
