Me and my 11-year-old son are doing an early winter exploration of Western Sichuan from 20th November to 2014 to 30th November 2014.
We arrive in Chengdu on the evening of 20th of Nov. The very next morning, we’re off on a bus to Kangding (2560m) Acclimatisation is important for this trip. We are doing day-trips to Tagong (3700m) or perhaps to Xinduqiao (3300m) before heading off to Litang (4014m). From there, we take a bus to Daocheng (3710m) and enter Yading Nature Reserve. Most of the places we’re visiting in the reserve are between 3000m to 4000m in altitude. This is our main area of interest and we hope to show that it’s even more beautiful than Jiuzhaigou.
As Facebook is blocked in China, we will be updating on Knapsack Treks. Keep checking our site, give it a whirl and buy some books.
