Chan Joon Yee at Delphi, Greece
When every move is governed by a rule book, Singaporeans generally won’t dare to try anything not approved by the government. Just as the ancient Greeks consulted the Oracle of Delphi, they are dependent on their government for protection. They also depend on others to find solutions to their problems. We can’t always blame them. Sometimes, we need to pander to the authorities to tap into their vast resources. Sometimes, doing things your way may get you into trouble. Travelling provides an excellent opportunity for strait-laced Singaporeans to break the mould. Why adopt the same restrictive style?
I choose a different style. I walk a different path. What a difference it has made to my pursuit of happiness.
