The protagonist here lives in Laos, but she’s an ethnic Akha. This tribe is found in Chiangrai, Myanmar and Yunnan. Because of their small numbers, they are often being marginalised by the majority. Her YouTube channel shows how an Akha woman from Laos can be an influencer in her own right.
This video is not for the faint-hearted. There are silkworms and even dogmeat on sale at this Vietnamese market. Dogmeat is more Vietnamese than Tai. It’s a very expensive delicacy at this market.
