Frankly, I wouldn’t bring my kids on the second toughest trek in the Nepal Himalayas at that age. I don’t think it’s suitable or even safe. However, the risks can be managed on quite a number of much easier treks, but even these will scare the hell out of most Singaporeans. I’m embarrassed that my young man gave up almost at the finish on a much easier trek and I’m totally blown away by the positivity of the two American girls, happily singing at the top of Kongma La. Singaporeans will be crying or complaining instead. We are really too soft, sheltered and unadventurous. No, in spite of the United States being a developed country, American soldiers are definitely not 少爷兵。
