It’s 4 months since I’ve said bye bye to my bunions. When bunions affected me, they obliterated the gap between my big toe and the second toe. This prevented me from wearing thong sandals.

The gap between the first and second toe has now been restored. I’ll be able to stroll on a sandy beach in my thong … sandals. But maybe that’s not a big deal as I’m a mountain person.
When I had bunions, my feet couldn’t fit properly into a standard pair of size 40 trekking boots. I had to wear oversized 42 boots, compromising stability. It made hiking uncomfortable, if not risky. I could sprain my ankle easily in my oversized boots.

Those are my new feet in a new pair of size 40 hiking boots. They fit like a glove. I’ve even tried jumping in them. My toes are still a bit stiff when I get in the push up position, but with footwear, I can walk quite comfortably on my toes. I can even jump and land on them.
The dorsum of the right foot just proximal to the toes still get a bit swollen after a long period of inactivity, but on the whole, my feet are already functioning normally even during exercise.
