Elastics are convenient and don’t take up too much space in the home. They are also relatively inexpensive. They are also light and easy to carry around with you if you don’t want to miss out on workouts when you’re travelling.
You can see the whole range of muscles being employed in these very simple stretching exercises.
Some coaches believe that our muscles only recognise resistance and not weight – hence, they are as good as dumbbells and other free weights. Some coaches believe that you can’t go very far with elastics because you can’t increase the load beyond a certain limit of inelasticity.
For seniors and others not really into bodybuilding but strength training, elastics are probably a good bet.
